Discipleship Walk Events

What is Discipleship Walk?

Christian discipleship is a continual process of the Holy Spirit transforming us into disciples of Jesus and calling to make a difference in the world around us.

The Discipleship Walk is a lay-led three-day weekend designed to give believers an opportunity to break from regular routines and experience the love of God in a fresh way.

The first full day speaks to God’s call upon our lives.

The second day we focus on how to fulfill the call upon our lives, as well as come to a better understanding of Christ’s love for us.

The third day is centered on going forward into the world from which we came just a few days before.

It is the intention of the Discipleship Walk to lead each person into a closer relationship with Christ where they might become more intentional and mature in their faith, so that each can make a difference for Christ in his or her own world.

What happens on a Discipleship Walk?

There is no
hiking involved.

The weekend is highly structured and includes a series of talks, discussions, chapel times, prayer time, music, lots of food and fun. It has been described as a ‘short course in Christianity’ and many believers feel that this experience has renewed their walk with the Lord.

If you would like to take your Christian walk to a deeper level or if you are experiencing a spiritual dryness, you will surely benefit from the Discipleship Walk.

Who can attend?

The Crossroads Discipleship Walk is currently open to all believers who attend Crossroads.

Where are the Walks held?

The Walks are held at St. Joseph Retreat Center in Tipton, IN.

What role does Discipleship Walk play at Crossroads?

“Discipleship Walk not only had an impact on my life, both by attending and serving, but I continue to see it used of God to impact others.

This lay-led ministry is one of the great catalysts for spiritual growth offered to our church family.”

Pastor Craig

How much does it cost?

The cost is $130 per person and includes all meals and 3 nights lodging.

A $50 non-refundable deposit is required at the time of registration.

The balance of $80 is due 1 week prior to the date of the weekend.

What if I can’t afford $130?

We don’t want lack of money to stand in
the way of a person desiring to attend Discipleship Walk. Your sponsor will help you work out funding options. We do feel it is best that you pay some portion of the cost of your Weekend.

If you have been invited to attend by a friend, they are also serving as your sponsor. They will help you with all the preparation, details and answering any questions.

If you are registering on your own and not as a result of a personal invitation, you will be connected with someone who will serve as your sponsor, helping you with all the preparation, details and answering any questions.

What should I bring?

A list of what items you will need to bring will be sent to you prior to your weekend.

Who is involved?

Each weekend is led by a team of people who attend church with you at Crossroads.

Since its inception in 1989, over 10,000 people have attended Discipleship Walks
in the nine different Discipleship Walk Communities around the United States.

The Discipleship Walk Community at Crossroads is known as:

Discipleship Walk of Central Indiana

How do I register?

Your friend who has invited you will provide you with a registration form.

If you are registering by yourself pick up a form at the Discipleship Walk kiosk.

Fully complete the form and attach a non-refundable $50 deposit check to secure your spot on the Walk. When the Discipleship Walk registrar receives your registration form and your non-refundable deposit of $50, only then will your spot be reserved.

To submit your registration:

Pick up a stamped, addressed envelope at the iCenter and mail your registration form and check to the Discipleship Walk registrar

What if the Walk is already filled?

If you register and the Walk is already filled, your name will be added to the Waiting List.

If people drop out, those on the waiting list will be added to the Walk and notified. This will be on a first come basis.

When will there be more Walks?
Currently we are planning a Men’s Walk around April-May and a Women’s Walk around October-November of each year.
